COVID-19 Mitigations, Bar & Restaurant Indoor Service Closures to Impact Entire State

Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) are announcing COVID-19 resurgence mitigations will be implemented in Region 2—North-Central Illinois—beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. The region has seen a 7-day rolling average test positivity rate of 8 percent or above for three consecutive days, which exceeds the thresholds set for establishing mitigation measures under the state’s Restore Illinois Resurgence Plan.

GOP Critical of Pritzker While Mitigations Hit Lake & McHenry Counties

As COVID-19 positivity rates climbed again in McHenry and Lake counties in far northeastern Illinois, Governor JB Pritzker added the region to the growing list of areas in the state banned from indoor dining and bar service. Governor Closing Bars & Restaurants to Indoor Service in Metro East, Suburban Cook

As COVID-19 infection rates continue to rise, Governor JB Pritzker announced Monday morning bars and restaurants will close for indoor service beginning Wednesday morning in the Metro East region around St. Louis as well as suburban Cook County. Metro East is being pegged for high positivity while suburban Cook County is being put into mitigation for increasing hospitalization rates.
